Referring someone to me.

If you're a therapist, case manager, attorney, school counselor, physician, or probation officer looking for a place to send someone, this page is for you. Here's what I take, what I don't, and how to make a referral that actually lands.

Who I work with

Adults, eighteen and up, individually or as couples. Trauma and post-traumatic stress, chronic stress and burnout, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship patterns, and the long tail of having been through systems that didn't work.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with fifteen-plus years across clinical, school, and community settings. I see people by secure telehealth anywhere in Colorado, from Denver.

I'm comfortable with clients who arrive skeptical, who've had bad experiences with treatment before, or who are coming because a court, employer, or program requires it. Those referrals are welcome, not tolerated.

What I don't take

I'm not set up for crisis response, active psychosis, or acute substance withdrawal. I don't do custody evaluations, forensic assessment, or court testimony as an expert witness. If someone needs a higher level of care right now, I'll say so on the first call and help point them somewhere appropriate.

Minors and family therapy are outside my current scope. For those I'm glad to suggest colleagues.

How to refer

The fastest route is a call or email with the person's first name, a phone number or email, and one or two sentences on what's going on. You don't need to write a case summary. If the client prefers to reach out themselves, you can send them the contact page or the free fifteen-minute call link.

I respond to referrals within two business days, usually the same day. If I can't take someone, I'll tell you that quickly rather than leaving you waiting.

Releases and what you'll hear back

I don't share anything about a client without a written release they've signed, naming exactly who gets what. That includes confirming whether they've contacted me. If your role requires attendance verification or periodic updates, tell me at the referral stage and I'll raise the release with the client in our first session so it's handled cleanly.

With a release in place, routine attendance letters and verification are no extra charge and go out on whatever schedule you need.

Fees

$175 for a fifty-minute individual session, $200 for sixty-minute couples work. I'm out-of-network and provide monthly superbills. A limited number of reduced-fee slots are available; if cost is likely to be the barrier for the person you're referring, say so up front and I'll tell you honestly whether I can make it work.

Full details, including the Good Faith Estimate, are on the fees page.

For organizations

Alongside the therapy practice, I consult and train for schools, nonprofits, healthcare teams, and other groups doing hard work with people: trauma-informed care, burnout and compassion fatigue, staff debriefs, mental health education. That work is described on the consulting page.
