Couples therapy for partners tired of the same argument.

Distance, the same loops on repeat, or something significant you're working through: couples therapy is a place to slow the cycle down and find each other again.

Why Couples Come In

You don't have to be in crisis to be here.

Many couples I see aren't on the verge of ending things — they're tired of the same arguments, the slow drift, or the sense that they've stopped really seeing each other.

  • Communication that keeps breaking down
  • Recurring conflicts that don't resolve
  • Feeling emotionally distant or disconnected
  • Rebuilding trust after a rupture
  • Big transitions you're facing together
  • Different needs around intimacy or closeness
  • The aftermath of stress, loss, or trauma
  • Wanting to understand the patterns you keep landing in

How We Work

Both of you. The dynamic between you. The history beneath it.

Couples therapy isn't about deciding who's right. It's about understanding what's actually happening — between you, inside each of you, and in the patterns you've fallen into together.

I'll help you slow down the moments that usually escalate, listen to what's underneath the surface, and find new ways to come back to each other when you've gotten knocked off-course.

The work is honest and collaborative. We name what's hard and make room for both of your experiences. Over time the dynamic starts to shift, not because you performed the right script, but because you understood each other in a new way.

What You'll Build Toward

A relationship that feels like a place you can land.

Communication that lands

Tools to say what you mean, and to hear what your partner is really saying.

Emotional reconnection

Space to feel close again, by clearing what's been getting in the way rather than forcing it.

Conflict you can move through

Less escalation, more repair. Fighting fairly when it matters, and learning when to pause.

Patterns made visible

The loops that keep happening become clear, and once they're clear they're workable.

A First Session for Couples

What it looks like.

Our first session is a chance for me to hear from both of you: what brought you in, what's been hardest, and what you're each hoping might be different.

I won't take sides. I'll be paying close attention to the dynamic between you, the meaning underneath the words, and what each of you has been carrying. You'll leave with a sense of how the work might unfold and whether it feels like a fit.

From there, we typically meet weekly or biweekly. Some couples find what they need in a focused stretch; others stay longer as life changes. We'll figure out the pace together.

Common Questions

What couples ask first.

Couples sessions are $200 for 60 minutes. I'm an out-of-network provider and don't bill insurance directly, though I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. Most plans don't cover couples counseling regardless of provider, since it isn't tied to an individual diagnosis.

That's more common than you'd think, and it's still worth a conversation. Sometimes we start with both partners; sometimes one person begins individually and the other joins later. Ambivalence about therapy is workable, and it doesn't disqualify you.

Yes. All couples sessions are secure telehealth, anywhere in Colorado. Partners can join from the same room or from two different locations, which helps when schedules or travel make a shared appointment hard.

Often, though the work is slower and more deliberate. We focus first on steadying the two of you, then on understanding what happened and what repair would genuinely require. Both partners need to be willing to stay in the conversation.
